What is Rope Freight Elevator?
With the beginning of the use of high-rise buildings, various business lines have started to be made in these high-rise buildings. Very high weights need to be lowered and lifted in various work branches, including the construction of these structures. This process, on the other hand, is a very difficult and risky job to do with human power. In order to eliminate this risk and to carry the weights more comfortably, freight elevators were designed and started to be produced.
Freight elevators differ according to the technical details used in their construction. The technical details used in the construction of freight elevators affect the general characteristics and usage areas of the elevators. Rope freight elevator is a type of elevator with weight lifting and carrying capacity to be built at a distance of 10 meters to 30 meters. It has a system that allows the transportation of goods and materials that are very heavy, such as 10,000 kg.
Rope Hoist Working Principle and Technical Details
In the rope hoist assembly, the motor of the system is located at the top of the hoistway. The freight elevator cabin is connected to the pulleys and the system with the help of a corrugated pulley with ropes. These rollers act as hoops that provide the transfer of movement.
As a result of the electric force drive, the load cabin rises with the engine activating the system. With this movement, the ropes go back and forth between two points and ensure the operation of the elevator. The working principle of the rope hoist is based on this movement and is carried out systematically.
Rope elevator technical details;
- Rope freight elevator carriage cabin is produced with steel constructions and 3 - 4 mm lozenge model sheet metal.
- The steel elevator shaft is firmly connected to the ground with concrete. The elevator shaft should be raised along the floors, as a result of joining the steel plates by welding.
- On the top of the steel elevator shaft, the main carrier motor and gear unit elements are placed. Safety switches and brake mechanism are also included in this section. Thanks to this system, the elevator goes up and down safely.
- Freight elevator cabin wears out more than passenger elevators. This process first takes place on the visible and first used surface of the elevator. For this reason, it is aimed to prevent deformation by dyeing with industrial dyes.
- The movement of the cabin can be controlled by the remote control.
Rope Hoist Safety System
It is very important that freight elevators have a robust and reliable system. Rope hoist safety system features are as follows;
- Robust and durable, the rope hoist enables very heavy loads up to 10,000 kg to be lifted up to a height of 30 m.
- While a single rope has the feature of pulling the load in the rope hoist, there are 4 ropes. In this way, in case of a possible rope breakage, other ropes prevent the platform from falling.
- There is a security system that prevents unnecessary up and down movement.
- If the energy is low, the panel automatically switches to protection mode.
- There is a stop button on the panel to quickly turn off the panel in case of emergency.
Prices and Advantages of Rope Hoists
The main advantages offered to the users by the features of the rope hoist types are as follows;
- By creating a safe and healthy working area, complying with the occupational health and safety law,
- It allows lifting a heavy load like 10,000 kg to a distance as high as 30 meters,
- Provides the most efficient use for a long time in case of periodic maintenance,
- It supports the company to provide professional service.
